Product management is both an art and a science.
There’s the science to it; research well, find an untapped need, get feedback early and often, be agile, use sprints and scrums, etc.
Then there’s the art of it; pick a purpose- not just a problem, inspire and draw the best from the people around you, support and nurture, give people a mission - not a task list and so on.
But I find it funny how sparingly few acknowledge this, most people talking about making products ignore chemistry, relationships and inter-personal skills. that set the stage for greatness to follow.
More on this later.
