There’s this specious little notion,
that if you’re a good person, doing good things, you must continue to be sweet and lovely even in the face of unfairness and injustice.
Good people finding themselves challenged by ones of not-so-noble character tend to weasel away from putting up a fight on grounds “I don’t like getting my hands dirty”, “I don’t play politics”, etc.
This is just playing the game wrong;
Given two people, a naive person who plays nice and one who plays dirty, it’s always the one who plays dirty who’ll have have her way as the good person simply withdraws once shit gets ugly.
Your goodness must not be the reason for your withdrawal but the basis of your fight, if they don’t let you do good things the good way, you have to do good things the bad way.
One must understand when the means justifies the end.
