When it comes to shopping online, i’m guessing most people do one of the following:
- Type “ buy item_they_want country_name” into Google search and proceed from there.
2. Head straight to a popular e-tailer and buy what they want
Both of the above seem like logical things to do but they’re NOT!
Because we have a better tool in our hands to compare products and prices. Lo and behold: Google Shopping! Here’s a side by side comparison of Google Shopping results vs plain old Google search results. Click here for a bigger image. Some obvious things that are better here: (1) Thumbnails
(2) Prices up-front
(3) Ability to specify a price range
(4) Less unnecessary information
(5) Greater variety of sellers (as results are aggregated by seller ) Unfortunately, this previously easy to access functionality is now buried thanks to the redesign of Google search in November 2012. That shouldn’t daunt you, the way to find this interface is to perform a google search and then select “Shopping” from the “More” tab (see the picture below)Happy (Google) shopping! :)
