When people compulsively indulge in cheap desires over...

When people compulsively indulge in cheap desires over a long enough period of time, they eventually hit a point where the pain of continuing in that same lifestyle outweighs the temporary pleasure it's giving them. So they snap . They clean their room, put away the dishes, start going to the gym again, and work their way out of the pit. Eventually, though, they start feeling pretty good again, but they make a crucial mistake . They use the fact that they're feeling good as an excuse to take it easy. To sit around and indulge again. Which was the exact reason they ended up in the pit to begin with.

The key to living a life better than you ever thought possible, is to not stop doing the things that made you feel good.

This may seem obvious, but this yo-yo effect between self-destruction and self-construction is by far the most common problem people face when trying to improve themselves . Why would you stop doing the things that got you out of a bad situation? What would happen if you kept doing them, and did them consistently until you die? What would happen if you always had your meals prepped, your apartment clean, your dishes done? What would happen if you developed ruthless consistency at the gym, were always early for work, and always got your tasks done under budget and ahead of schedule?  How would your life be different? Perhaps then, life would start giving you some return on investment . Perhaps then, it wouldn't seem like life is constantly kicking your ass all the time. Perhaps then, the compound effect of your constructive actions would kick in, giving you exponential growth in every area of your life.

All of this is 100% possible when you trade in your yo-yo for some damn consistency.
